Serenity & Roses for 2016! I can’t be more excited for these colours

Welcome to 2016!

Pantone has announced the colour of the year and this year they have brought out 2 colours!

Serenity and Rose Quartz!  They go beautiful together and there are some great choices to be on the look out in 2016!

Get it together for 2016:

Take time this weekend and go through your closet.  The easiest thing you can do is take a bit to organize your closet.  What’s your motivation- IT WILL BE SO EASY TO GET DRESSED IN THE MORNING!

Try organizing by color this year:   Go right through the rainbow in your closet.

***But in the front, where you reach or can get to first- collect all your soft blues and soft pinks- they are your go to colours for 2016!

When you’re out and about if you see any rose pinks or soft blues that are inexpensive, pick up a couple great trendy scarfs in 2016′s colors, nail polish, makeup, hair pieces, hats, pick some up for  the year.

Fall & Jog-Out Ideas that get you through Winter

Keeping with this geometric, diamond pattern, contrasting colors that we’ve seen all year, I just saw this great skirt from Anthropologie, that would be perfect and easy to dress for jog-outs this fall.

It reminds me of Ralph Lauren’s Vintage collection a couple years ago- Do you recall?

Croptop Crackdown!

There has been a crackdown on crops!

No, not that crop, I’m talking about the very popular mid-drift fashion piece of clothing, the crop-top!

The Melbourne Cup is Australia‘s major thoroughbred horse race. Marketed as “the race that stops a nation”, it is a 3,200 metre race for three-year-olds and over. It is the richest “two-mile” handicap in the world, and one of the richest turf races. Conducted annually by the Victoria Racing Club on the Flemington Racecourse in MelbourneVictoria, the event starts at 3pm (daylight saving time) on the first Tuesday in November.

A crackdown, with fashion police stopping women who expose their stomachs will occur this coming November 4th on the Flemington Racecourse during The Melbourne Cup!

Women attending the Melbourne Cup Carnival can expect a crop top crackdown, with fashion police set to stop women with exposed stomachs from entering vast sections of the track.

Women entering general admission areas will be able to flash their flesh in midriff-exposing crop tops, but members and their guests trying to enter the Members’ Grandstand and enclosure, VIP Birdcage, and popular carpark picnic precincts, such as The Nursery, at Flemington in Victoria this year will be turned away.

They are already sick of the short skirts and high high heels, so they’ve drawn the line – No Crop Tops!

Do you think it’s fair?  Can a Crop Top be done tastefully?  Just a little sliver?

So if the crop top is out- Then what’s in?

Florals are a must!

Great heels that pop are always a must!

A fantastic fascinator!

Accessories like a great clutch!

Squeeze out the last of Summer- Outfit idea with items that will take you through to winter

End of Summer Outfit
The Season is changing, but if you were a fan of summer, you probably are squeezing out the last few summer type days as Autumn begins!  Take the red necklace and wear that all the way till Spring of 2015!
The Chevron dress- add a shawl over or tights under to take you through Autumn.  The Spur Bracelet and handbag by Lilo can used year round and unfortunately, even though you LOVE them, the Katharine Page sandals will have to be put away for most of you till warmer times in 2015.

Trends to look forward to and take note of

Take a moment, and rearrange your closet.  Group the following items together, so that you can assemble what to wear from them since these are your items that will be your Fall & Spring staples.  It makes things SO much easier.

Northern Hemisphere-

Animal Prints- Birds are particularly popular-

The blanket coat- as previously written about.

Velvet- Always a staple to have something velvet.

Knits & Knots- Big knit sweaters are in- I can foresee finding a couple of good ones will be your staple items this Autumn.

Reds- Reds have been popular all year- this is a staple item that will take you right into the deep of winter.

Fur-

Southern Hemisphere:

Fall into Winter

Pastels- Soft colors- lots and lots of soft colors everywhere!  Even at a sophisticated age, adding some soft colors is a must.  Soft pastels and brighter colors will be an easy transition right into summer.

Crests- Big over sized crests are popular.

Mixed Metals- look for mixing metals, whether it’s in mixing some jewelry together or finding a gem T-shirt that has different studs and paint on it!

Flowers- Florals are big this whole year- this will take you right into summer easily.

* Keep a look out for also Nautical style- that will transition you right into summer and it never goes out of style!  Navy & Whites, Chevron print, is always in no matter where you are in the World.

** You’ll also need a couple good hats as well for that strong sun!
